WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS?

Oh Gosh,

There are so many good things about the holidays. Once you get past the stress, shopping and time crunch, you head into the good times!! IMHO

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
For me, it's the spirit of generosity and gift-giving. It's being able to help your children and get them those one or two special gifts that will put a smile on their face. I love the "togetherness" of the holidays too, the gathering of family, the decorating, the baking and cooking new things, or simply staying comfortable with the "tried and true" recipes. I love it all, the music, the weather, (not so bad here in California), the planning and anticipation.

Mickey Mouse has a place on our tree!

So what's your favorite Holiday "Thing"? What do you enjoy the most? If you're on my newsletter/mailing list, your comment enters you into my 10 Holiday Gifts Contest, where you can win a signed copy of SUNSET SURRENDER or a $5.00 Gift Card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

My favorite part of the holiday season is having extra time off work to spend with family. It gives us a chance to reconnect without the hassles of work, homework, sporting events etc.

My favorite “thing” about the holidays is getting to just relax and enjoy time with my family. Not having to worry about work or school and exchange gifts and having a nice sit down meal together.

My favorite part of the holidays is my brother's family comes to visit. They live in another state, so I don't get to see my little nieces and nephew very often. They are active, energetic toddlers, so they're a handful at Christmas, but I just love seeing them and spending time with them during this magical time of year.

Hi, Charlene!

I think my favorite thing about the holidays is watching the excitement in the eyes of the all of the children. Their total joy, amazement and belief in Santa are so adorable. If only we could keep them innocent like that for as long as possible.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! I actually enjoy buying gifts for people. I love to think of what they would love to have and love to see their reactions when they open the gift. This year was harder with having cats sick so much and my husband's job being very slow. We didn't have much money to spend on gifts. So, I hope everyone still likes what we got them. I had to think extra hard on them. I also love all the decadent treats we don't get the rest of the year.

You know me, I love the exhale, when the shopping, overkill ads/music/decor is done and the getting together, what these times are really about, is here. The special part is telling those you love and care for that they mean something ... not just the gifts but the heart of sharing warm memories and laughter and always hopes for a brighter new year. I love you always but the holidays remind us to really stop and acknowledge those that matter most. Love and appreciate you bestie.

My favorite thing about the holidays, last December my Dad had a heart attack and my 16 year old nephew had to get a Pacemaker. Thank You and Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you and your family

Well, my favorite part of the Christmas spirit is the true meaning of Christ's birth. :)

I love the time our family spends together, the traditions we follow and the feelings and lessons gained by being generous.

The cold weather (and snow if we're lucky) and the smells, tastes and feel of the season brings people closer. The quiet, alone time is special as well--curling up near the fire with hot cocoa and a great book can't be topped!

Have a beautiful and full Christmas, Charlene!

I love the Christmas cards
we receive. I pin them to
velvet ribbons and hang them
on the wall in our entry way. They are so colorful there
together and each one
represents a friend who took
the time and effort to
remember us. As guests
visit us during the Christmas season, I notice that each
looks for their card on the
wall. And after Christmas I
mail the fronts of the cards
to a youth group who use them
in various crafts. Our cards
do not go to waste.

My favorite thing about Christmas for me is a little of each of the following, sending Christmas cards, decorating the house (but not to much, just enough to make it feel special), baking cookies, watching 'A Christmas Carol' in black & white and recalling all the Christmas' past with family. It just gives me a warm cozy feeling. Then on Christmas day, having the family here for dinner and just relaxing and opening a few gifts. Very low key and relaxed. :))

Charlene I like your name. Reminds me of one of my very bast friends when I was 10 because that was her name. You have a lovely family. I love Christmas, because of the real meaning. JESUS. The reason we love is because GOD loved us first and JESUS died so we could one day go to Heaven. So, we share our love at Christmas by showing our love to family and special friends with little gifts of love. Tho, now I believe it has gotten way too commercialized, and people spend way too money. Hope you and yours have a Wonderful Christmas. Maxie ( mac262@me.com )
