Today’s my day -- DECEMBER 1 st for the Giveaway!
And I’d love to know about your Christmas/ Holiday shopping plans. Are you the forward thinker who shops all year round so by the time the holidays are upon us, you’re not scrambling to get the gifts purchased? Or are you the Black Friday shopper, who ventures in the dark of night to hunt for the greatest bargains in town?
Are you a shopper like me, who waits until after Thanksgiving and takes those few weeks to find the right gift at the right price? I hit the sales, and try my darnedest to make sure I’ve gotten the most for my money. I have not bought one gift yet, but thanks to gift cards, my shopping list isn’t too hard to navigate through.
Or are you the last minute shopper? Someone who can get it all done within a day and usually that day is RIGHT before the holiday?
Post a comment about your shopping habits TODAY and THRU the weekend and I’ll post the winner from a random drawing on SUNDAY. All commenters are automatically entered into the drawing for the Kindle Fire (or equivalent) on December 23rd. Try to visit all the blog sites from November 29th to December 23rd to increase your chances of winning!!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 264 of 264I am a multiple personality shopper...I do a little of all of those. If I spot something early or it takes until the last minute, I want to get something I know they will love.
I do a mixture of black friday shopping and last minute shopping.
I'm the kind of shopper who starts looking for gifts at the beginning of the year! Haha! I just love to spend, you know.... ;-)
You could say I'm a last minute shopper but I am prepared one. I try to shop on weekdays during non-peak hours though. This year I'm aiming to get done early and stay indoors. Safe and sound!

I start shopping in September and continue shopping through to the week before Christmas. I always feel that I don't have enough for everybody so I do tend to go overboard.
Thanks for this opportunity.

I am one of the crazy shoppers that will take a nap and get up at 11pm to go shopping starting at 12am. I plan out each store and make a list of what I am getting for who. I am in and out of the city in 4-5 hours and I have everyone completed.
I'm doing all my shopping online, mainly Amazon due to great prices and services! You are giving away some great books!
I have only bought one present so far. Our family plans to exchange gift certificates this year, but I want to have at least one wrapped present for each to open. Then I must purchase gifts for the many youngsters in our block. They seem to get such a kick out of getting something from someone other than Santa Claus. And we exchange gifts for seven dogs. We have a very close-knit neighborhood and it is nice.
I can't break the habit...I'm a last minute shopper. End up rushing up to the last minute, but I seem to get it all done by deadline.
I shop throughout the year and then around Thanksgiving go through the stash and make a list of who/what else I need to buy for. Then it is time for wrapping! I love Christmas. Thanks for this giveaway.

I don't love shopping. I buy all year long as I come across the perfect gift for each person that I am buying for whether for holiday, birthdays, etc. ) I also do not wait till the last minute on buying gifts either. I love homemade cards for special occasions.
I usually start thinking about what I want to get for people in October (any earlier, and things change too much before Christmas!), then keep an eye out for the items on my list for the next couple of months. Usually I'm mostly done by the first week or so of December.
But I like to shop close to Christmas too, for stocking stuffers and little things just to enjoy the Holiday atmosphere. :)
I am a wait until after December 1st an find my gifts then. I love to go shopping. I have to admit though that I have been known to shop via the internet but also after December 1st.

I have tried Viagra and Cialis before and must say that Levitra causes less side effects though. I had terrible headache with Viagra which made sex impossible sometimes. With Levitra ...

I used to shop all year long. Then I would run out on Black Friday. A couple of years ago I discovered Amazon! Now, I buy very little and I do it at the last minute. I find that I spend a lot less this way!

I don't shop for Christmas until the week of Thanksgiving. I guess it's old-fashioned but I like my holidays in order.

I am a half and half. I shop throughout the year for bargains, then catch deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
I always shop at the last minute, and when I do, I end up buying everything I can find. I don't have the best shopping habits. Haha

I usually have my shopping done by now. I'm recovering from pneumonia so I'm finishing online.
I usually have my shopping done by now. But I'm recovering from pneumonia so I'm finishing it online.
Money is super tight this year but instead of whining about what we don't have we're going to concentrate on what we do have which is each other. It'll be a very simple Christmas and I have a feeling it's going to be one of our best ones yet because instead of running around like chickens with our heads cut off we're going to concentrate on just being together as a family.
Oh, I'm definitely one of those wait-until-the-last-minute people because I don't have the patience for the holiday shoppers so I either give gift cards or shop online.

I shop usually via the internet and very sparingly. I hate crowds!
I don't think my post went through. I can't see it. Just wanted to say almost done, just dh and grandbaby left.
I always wait until after Thanksgiving (December 1st) before I do my Christmas shopping. I try to have my shopping wrapped up two weeks before Christmas because I know several people wait to the last minute and I dont like to be caught in the big crowds. Plus all the good gifts are gone.
Most of my family prefers gift cards because they can pick out what they want.
I shop all year 'round. I needed to this year since I was doing the Twelve Days of Christmas for my list of people. It was fun.

I'm a last minute shopper - I always work best under pressure :)
Am a total internet shopper. Though I used to like to do the Black Friday thing but now people are just too crazy and ruins it fro me for the season.
Though it is easier now with teens nephews and neices who love gift cards, though I try to find unique gifts to hide them in line swim caps, books, keepsake boxes, surf wax ect.
I'm a "Oh crap,it's December 1 and I haven't bought a single thing yet" shopper.
There's nothing I want bad enough to brave Black Friday, so these days I find myself doing A LOT of my holiday shopping online. It's just more convenient for me, and if I'm not traveling over the holidays, I can ship things directly to whomever the giftee is.
Uh, which reminds me - need to start shopping tomorrow.
I shop all year round. When I find something I know someone on my list will like, I pick it up and hope I'll remember where I hid it when Christmas rolls around. (I found a size 4T shirt I bought for my son who is now 29.) Il fill in the rest of the gift between Thanksgiving and Christmas by watching the sales closely. I went shopping yesterday and pretty much finished my shopping at one stop.
Thanks for participating in the Advent Calendar contest. It was fun last year. Just finished THE COWBOY'S PRIDE and really enjoyed it.
Have a great Christmas.
If I see something that would be perfect for someone on my list I get it. This year I started this past summer. I'm almost done, just a few more things to get & stocking stuffers.
I generally buy presents throughout the year. Then it's just a matter of finding where I've hidden them when the holidays roll around!

Oh my goodness. Charlene you have a lot of posts to read. I'm almost finished shopping but still have to get something to wear for myself. I'm waiting for some really good sales. My family picks names so I don't have a lot of shopping to do.
I love to shop, so I shop all through Nov. & Dec. And I'm usually finishing up on Dec. 24....

I try to start early but I never get very far and I'm always shopping up to the last minute.
I shop early and try to do as much as I can online. I still never seem to have enough time to get it all done...

This year, for the first time due to health reasons, I am doing all my shopping on line. I am surprized at how much I am enjoying it!
Actually, I Christmas shop all year long! I have a special closet where I collect gifts as I find things that my sisters will love. I use the same closet for birthdays too.

Thanks for entering me in the contest!

LARA sister here, better late than pregnant, chiming in. I'm a long-time catalog shopper - browse the catalogs, and either order from them, or go shopping with ideas in mind I've derived from my browsing. Very rarely do I do mindless wandering through a mall (though in a bookstore... ye gods! Not often I come from a bookstore without a little bit here and there for ME.)
I do all three. If I see something during the year I think someone will like, I buy it. I do the Black Friday shopping and I do the last minute shopping.
It seems like no matter how hard I try to get it all done ahead of time, there's always something or someone that I have forgotten! Last minute shopping can be fun as long as you don't have much to buy. People watching is the best part of mall shopping anyway! ;-) Thanks for being a part of the Advent Calendar!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I'm a last minute shopper as in the 23rd. lol. I've gotten better at it and now start my shopping at the beginning of December online. Forget those crazy Black Friday deals. I tried it one year with my mom and just, no. Never again.

I shop after Thanksgiving.
bituin76[at]hotmail[dot]com
I try to get mine done in the early morning or shop online I don't like battling crowds of paople. Thanks for the giveaway.
I shop all year round and usually have my shopping done by the last of November. Thanks for the giveaway.
marlenebreakfield(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'm not a big fan of shopping, so I usually end up buying most of the stuff last minute online.
marieimy (at) gmail (dot) com
No more shopping today, but did wrap the gifts for my little boy's weekend birthday.
I tend to wait until December then rush round buying last-minute items or giving cards with promises to take family shopping in the sales!
I'm more of a last minute shopper.
klmc_37@yahoo.com
I try to remember comments throughout the year and if I don't hear differently I get the item. Sometimes I really surprise them, since they made the comment back in June. Doesn't cover all the people on my list but it gives me a start.

I have been making gifts for months. When I need a rest from the current gift I crochet a hat or two for chemo patients. Happily all the family are avid readers making online shopping a breeze. With any luck All will be finished in the next week ; )
I do a little bit of everything. I start buying early when I find things on sale, but I also hit the Black Friday sales. I'm on the computer ordering from the beginning of November right up until the last ordering days, and then I scramble out the week of Christmas to grab all the last-minute things I haven't gotten yet.
hanalis(at)gmail dot com
I will start shopping in October usually. I do go out on Black Friday. This year was the best one for me. I waited til later to go and still got almost everything I wanted.
I am usually very organised and shop quite early for Christmas but this year I have had far too much study and work (stress) so i think i will be panic buying at the last minute
I started shopping the week before Thanksgiving in the stores and I really shopped online from Thanksgiving day on.
I love having the mailman,UPS and FEDEX guy delivering the goodies.
gigihicks(at)windstream(dot)net
Starting to get the deliveries for what we've ordered. Between a December birthday for my son and Christmas, it looks like we've robbed a UPS truck, lol. Tomorrow we're likely to grab our little guy some PJs.
I am a mix - I use Black Friday to shop for the items I already know I need. I spend the rest of the next few weeks shopping for the items that will make my loved ones happiest. And sometimes I have some last-minute shopping that gets done the few days before Christmas!
If I see something really great anytime during the year I will try and pick it up. Aside from that I wait until Thanksgiving and spend the next couple weeks searching for the right gift.
I pretty much waited till november to start thinking of christmas shopping!
Making an afghan, scarf for my sister. we all have 1 sibbling each year, kinda like a rotation:P, would be way too expensive to get something for EACH sibling.
so it was pretty much making it take takes the 2 months to do HAHA.
Let's see, I have all gifts, except for the one for my husband, but I know what I get him.
And I bought nearly all gifts in the last four weeks.
And I would like to be entered for the grand price.

Hi Charlene,
I missed you contest day. Pleas enter me for the kindle. I start my shopping in September and am done by Thanksgiving. I have a bad back and can not afford to be bumped around in stores.
